Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj: In The Land Of Vrindavan

On his arrival in Vrindavan, some devotees recognised his transcendental personality and requested that while keeping his prem samadhi under control he should come out and guide them. Their entreaty and the love and affection they expressed impelled  Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj to help his dear devotees and shower his love on them.

Nobody knows when he proceeded to Vrindavan from Chitrakoot. He travelled to Vanshivat, Vrindavan via Charkhari. All the while he did not bother to eat or drink anything. He ate the food and wore the clothes offered to him affectionately by others.

On his arrival in Vrindavan, some devotees recognised his transcendental personality and requested that while keeping his prem samadhi under control he should come out and guide them. Their entreaty and the love and affection they expressed reminded Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj that the purpose of his descension was to establish bhakti in every person and in every household and so he went with them to grace the souls.

CONCEALING HIS DEVOTIONAL ECSTASY

While showering brajarasa on his devotees through congregational chanting (sankirtan) in Mathura, Agra, Allahabad, Pratapgarh, and other places, he began to come down to the state of hamsa from the elevated state of paramahamsa. So he began to conceal and control the bliss of divine love he was experiencing in order to propagate the bhakti of Shri Krishna to the people of the world.

While staying in devotees' homes, Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj started conversing with them and giving them spiritual advice. During sankirtan however, he was always in a state of ecstasy. At that time he would play the dholak and sing. He had not learned to play, yet he possessed complete knowledge without being taught. His hare rama sankirtan sung to the beat of the dholak became well-known far and wide. In those days, he either chanted the mahamantra or made the atmosphere reverberate with the sweet sounds of radhe govinda bhajo, vrindavan chanda bhaja.

While chanting bhaja giridhara govinda gopala he would suddenly break out into hari bol and all present would be drenched in the nectar of divine love. While chanting hari bol, Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj would become oblivious of his physical body in the highest state of mahabhava. The devotees assembled would see in him none other than Gauranga Mahaprabhu. This was especially so when with the beats of the mridanga he sang hari bol sankirtan, raising both arms in the air and dancing with wild abandon, and in the process falling down in an unconscious state. When they saw that the colour of his face had changed and that his voice had choked, they felt sure that Gauranga Mahaprabhu had appeared again in the form of Kripalu. The sankirtan went on for hours and sometimes it continued all through the night. Like this, Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj kept the stream of bhakti rasa flowing for about one and a half years. Conclusion:Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj's arrival in the sacred land of Vrindavan marked a significant phase in his spiritual journey. Recognized for his transcendental personality, he heeded the pleas of devoted seekers who sought his guidance and love. His purpose was clear: to establish the path of bhakti in every person and every household.

As he engaged in congregational chanting (sankirtan) and traveled to various places, he began to conceal his profound devotional ecstasy while sharing the love and wisdom of Shri Krishna's bhakti with those around him. Despite the ecstatic states he experienced during sankirtan, he continued to offer spiritual guidance and advice to his devotees.

For about one and a half years, he kept the stream of bhakti rasa flowing, ensuring that the nectar of divine love continued to quench the spiritual thirst of all who came into his divine presence. Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj's time in Vrindavan was a profound and transformative chapter in the annals of his spiritual journey and his mission to share the message of devotion to Shri Krishna.
