Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj lovingly called an idol of love and devotion, is one of the great spiritual figures in the present world whose life and mission have made an everlasting impression on millions of people. The fifth original Jagadguru taught a perfect synthesis of classical Vedic wisdom with pragmatic spirituality, which has naturally led seekers to their ultimate goal or end-God-realization.


Early Life and Spiritual Awakening


Born on October 5, 1922, in Mangarh, a small village located in Uttar Pradesh of India, Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj has been exhibiting some very special spiritual tendencies from the very early stages of his life. Even though he has very ordinary beginnings, he possesses such a great grasp of the scriptures and such deep divine wisdom that it sets him apart. His extraordinary underwent exposure through traditional studies in Vedic scriptures and philosophy at a place like Kashi Vidvat Parishad or Chitrakoot, where the brilliance of his mind amazed the scholars.A state of meditation and ecstasy came into being when he was just 16 and thus began the divine pilgrimage. The title connotated "spiritual master of the world," placing him in the revered lineage of previous Jagadgurus such as Adi Shankaracharya, Ramanujacharya, and Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. What distinguished him was his ability to synthesize all these teachings while emphasizing Bhakti as the highest spiritual path.


The Mission of Divine Love


The teachings of Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj portrayed to the world the vision to revive Sanatan Dharma principles and set humanity on the path of unconditional love towards Radha and Krishna. He drew the lines of Bhakti Yoga in his teachings, surrender, love, and devotion as the only means to achieve divine bliss.


This is an important contribution, for it includes the setting up of spiritual institutions like Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat, which indeed has proved to be a great source or beacon of spiritual learning and service under which ashrams, temples, and educational institutions have been set up for free spiritual, educational, and medical service. Temples like Bhakti Mandir in Mangarh and Prem Mandir in Vrindavan are standard flags of what his devotion and vision could offer.
